Christmas Gifts for the Children's Center 2020

(2020, $200, Magdalena/Chontal) On November 12, I received a request from the daycare center in Magdalena, which is next to Chontal and services children from the area, for support for small Christmas gifts for the 32 children. It was sent by way of Tania, one of the child development workers who was also a leader of our youth group back in 2016. She is just finishing her degree in early child development, and has begun working for the center:

I was able to forward along $200 in general donations that had been made by two people over the course of the year.

Tania was able to send back some pictures of the gift-giving. It made a special Christmas experience for all of the children, as well as for the folks in the daycare center that are working hard and anxiously to provide formative education and support for children amidst a pandemic that inhibits a lot of the opportunities that typically really benefit kids at that very important age.

Thanks again for your support - I’m glad that even the extra donations that come along find a place for lifting up others and creating bridges on which we all experience the power that sharing has in making us more fully human in relationship with each other.
