Make Something Special Happen - Update 4

Update 9/13

Hello, and thanks once again for your patience! It's been a very busy month, but with good news.

Again, thank you to those who donated to bring us to $1,550 in the fundraiser to make something special happen in Ecuador. It's so much appreciated, and it's put to good use: all of the money has been delivered. I'll share more about that, and want to share that I'm closing the fundraiser for now. So, thank you!

Great news is that Rafaela continues to do well in her recovery. She had her open-heart surgery on August 7th, and it's been almost all good news so far in her recovery - that's great news. Her mother Janeth has been nothing short of heroic in pursuing all the care that Rafaela has needed, it's very moving inspiration. So, thank you again for joining with the community in supporting her and Rafaela and the family!

The schoolyard roof has been delayed, but the manual work has either started or is about to start (I owe Ines a call to catch up more.) On Sep 3 and 4, I transferred $1250 to her account in two deposits, delivering the final amount of the fundraiser. So, more news should be forthcoming for the school yard roof, and it's an exciting time for the school and the kids!

Even though I'm considering the fundraiser finished (I reduced the goal to $1550), I'll continue to post all the updates here.

Thank you again for joining us in generosity, and feel free to share this. Again, I hope you feel in some way like a part of the community, and may God continue to make something special happen for you as this fall season begins.

NOTE: You are not required to tip GoFundMe. GoFundMe defaults to adding a 15% tip during donation payment. This is optional, and on top of the 2.9%+$0.30 of your donation that they already charge. You don’t have to tip anything, and you can change this tip to $0 by dragging the slider on the page all the way to the left.

NOTE: Using GoFundMe saves me time and energy that I can then give to principle activities. GoFundMe provides behind the scenes organization that I would have to do myself if everyone donated individually, taking my time and effort away from my principle activities. Please consider the GoFundMe fee a replacement for paying someone to manage the fundraiser.

NOTE: You can make a free transfer outside of GoFundMe. If you have PayPal (jeromeekiley@gmail.com) or Venmo (@Jerome-Kiley-1) in the US, these methods are free transfers. You can send me a personal gift, and I will add your anonymous gift to the GoFundMe’s fundraiser list of donations. However, you won’t receive the updates I post on GoFundMe.

Thank you for considering us!
