Please note that Gifts to Barriers To Bridges are not Yet tax-DEDUCTIBLE

Barriers To Bridges is working toward having 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable status in 2017 to give a lift to donors. Your gift today is greatly appreciated and needed, and will be used fully for our efforts, but it does not qualify as a deductible charitable donation for tax purposes. B2B recommends checking with a qualified tax accountant for your planning purposes.

FAQ

How Do I Give Online?

Online gifts can be made here securely using any major credit card, or through a bank transfer from one of 14 major US banks. The online bank transfer has a lower fee and is preferred.

Is giving online secure?

Yes. This site is hosted by Squarespace, and all pages on this site have industry standard, SSL certified security connections, meaning your information is safe to use in online transactions. Transactions are made through Stripe, an industry leader in business online payments.

If you give through the online bank transfer option, Stripe uses Plaid to connect you to your bank account. After selecting your bank you will be asked to login to your online bank account as you would normally do to bank online. This does not set up a permanent connection, and your data is secure and private.

Are there fees for online giving?

Processing fees are about 3 to 4% of your total gift when you give online with a credit card. So for example, if you give $100, Barriers To Bridges receives about $96 to 97. There is also the option for you to pay these fees in the online checkout process if you choose, so that Barriers To Bridges receives the full amount of your gift.

When you click the Give button, you will also have an option to make a wire transfer from one of 14 major banks in the US. If you do have an account in one of the banks offered, this is the preferred method for making a gift, as it has the lowest fee. The fee is 0.8% up to $5, plus a fixed 0.89%. Some examples:

$100 gift = $1.69 fee
$500 gift = $8.45 fee
$1000 gift = $13.90 fee

Can I set up automatically recurring monthly gifts?

Yes. When you click on the Give button, there is an option to set up recurring monthly gifts.

What are General and Assigned Giving?

  • General Giving - I’ll use the money in a way I think serves the best, where I think there is the greatest need.

  • Assigned Giving - The money will be dedicated to specific ministries/projects/poverty relief, or to supporting me in the mission, as you choose. My own costs in mission total about $600 per month and include rent, food, flights, phone, internet, and other basic living expenses..
